Program Highlight: Bright Days Recreational Services

Bright Days Recreational Services offers several weekend getaways during the winter and spring for people with disabilities. Upcoming trips include:

• Christmas in the White Mountains -- Friday, December 16 – Sunday, December 18
• New Years Eve Weekend Party -- Friday, December 30 – Monday, January 2
• Elvis’ Birthday Party Bash --Friday, January 6 – Sunday, January 8
• Mardi Gras Weekend Festival – Friday, January 27 – Sunday, January 29
• Foxwoods Resort & Casino – Sunday, February 12 – Tuesday, February 14

Most trips are held at either The Pocono Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania, or the Indian Head Resort in New Hampshire. Prices range from $515 to $700, and include meals, transportation, activities, and accommodations. There are several pick-up spots throughout central and western Massachusetts.

Unfortunately, the accessibility of these programs is greatly diminished by the fact that their vans are NOT wheelchair accessible. Program staff note that this is one of their greatest challenges.
