CMS RELEASES 2006 SPOUSAL IMPOVERISHMENT FIGURES

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the community spouse resource allowance (CSRA) and the maximum monthly maintenance needs allowance for 2006. The new minimum CSRA is $19,908 and the new maximum is $99,540. The maximum monthly maintenance needs allowance is $2,488.50. These new figures are effective January 1, 2006. The minimum monthly maintenance needs allowance will remain $1,603.75 until July 1, 2006.
