Advocacy alert! Now that applications for Free Care go to MassHealth there is a significant possibility of confusion in eligibility notification. An applicant eligible for Free Care may receive a letter that contains a denial of MassHealth eligibility on page 1, but an approval for Free Care on page 2. One can easily envision scenarios where clients would miss the important Free Care eligibility notice. Please see the attached document, developed by Community Partners, to educate yourself and your clients about this letter.
