Program Highlight:
CITIZENS ENERGY AND DISTRIGAS CONTINUE CEDHAP
The AIDS Action Committee has approved limited funds for fuel assistance for the HIV-positive population. They will be accepting applications until February 24th, or until funds are depleted. The maximum assistance amount is $500, used only toward a primary source of heating. Applicants do NOT have to be behind on bills to get the assistance; they can get a credit on their account.
Eligibility
Recipients must:
- be HIV+.
- provide a lease or tenancy verification which matches the address on the utility bill.
- have combined household income no greater than HUD “Very Low Income” guidelines (currently $28,950 for individual in Boston. See http://www.huduser.org/Datasets/IL/IL05/ma_fy2005.pdf for other family configurations and geographic areas.)
- provide proof of income that is no older than 60 days.
Applications are available from any of the HIV social workers.
