NEW FPL AS OF APRIL 1st (NO KIDDING)

Each year on April 1 st the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) is adjusted. As you no doubt know, this figure is the basis of financial eligibility for many state and federal public benefit programs including MassHealth, Food Stamps, and cash assistance programs. The Massachusetts Law Reform Institute each year prepares a grid of Massachusetts’ health care coverage programs, their percent of poverty limits and the corresponding dollar limits for different family sizes. This “MassHealth Income Standards” document includes limits for Free Care, the Children’s Medical Security Plan and Commonwealth Care. See attached. This document is also on our website www.mghsocialwork.org > Staff Access > Community Resources > Basic Needs > Cash Assistance/Public Benefits. References to the FPL throughout our website should also be linked to this document.
