MASSHEALTH AND COMMONWEALTH CARE MEMBER TIME TO RESPOND TO RE-DETERMINATION SHORTENED

Effective December 1, 2007 MassHealth is decreasing the amount of time that members have to send in re-determination information to retain eligibility for MassHealth or Commonwealth Care. Until now one has had 60 days to respond to these request, it will now be 45 days. This could have a negative affect on MassHealth and Commonwealth Care members who need more time to get their information into the state about changes in their situation. “Failure to return a written update within 45 days will result in the termination of a member’s eligibility.”
