NATIONAL STUDY FINDS 650,000 CAREGIVERS IN MASSACHUSETTS

The Family Caregiver Alliance National Center on Caregiving (NCC), reports that Massachusetts has an estimated 650,000 family caregivers who work approximately 700,000,000 hours a year for an annual market value of approximately $7 billion. The population of MA is about 6,500,000 (2000 U.S. Census Bureau) so about one person in 10 is providing unpaid care-giving services.
