DISABLED VETERANS & AMPUTEES EXEMPT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE SALES TAX
Under Massachusetts law certain disabled veterans as well as individuals who have suffered loss, or permanent loss of use, of both legs or both arms are exempt from paying sales tax on motor vehicles. To qualify, the vehicle must be owned and registered for the personal use of the disabled individual. Veterans who wish to take this exemption must be deemed permanently disabled by the medical advisory board, and have been issued a disabled veteran number plate.
