GBLS Welfare Law Unit to take on Utilities Cases

The Welfare Law Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services has secured a grant to work on utility cases for low-income consumers that are susceptible to resolution by advocacy, including (but not limited to) electric, gas, water, telephone, and fuel assistance. For the relevant types of utilities, cases would include those involving problems getting utilities turned on after a move, impending terminations, restoration, and discounts. To refer a patient to the Welfare Law Unit for a utilities case, please complete a SEALS intake form, specify that the patient has a utilities issue, and fax the form to 617-371-1222, Attn: Welfare Department.

Note: For this program only, clients may be over age 60.
