ARRA $25 Weekly Unemployment Compensation Benefit Noncountable for SNAP

A new federal law enacted on November 6, 2009 changed the treatment of a $25 weekly ARRA unemployment compensation (UC) supplemental payment in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The $25 weekly UC payment is now excluded from the SNAP eligibility calculation meaning that more people will be eligible for SNAP. The ARRA supplemental payment does remain countable for TAFDC and EAEDC eligibility determination.
