CHILDREN'S MEDICAL SECURITY PLAN CHANGES

Effective November 4, 2002 the Children's Medical Security Plan suspended enrollment until a maintenance caseload is reached through attrition. They are now running a waiting list. New members will be enrolled as openings occur when existing members leave the Plan. Coverage will be effective on the date an opening becomes available. As of November 4, the Plan also no longer process Limited Authorization or Temporary Enrollment.

As of December 1, 2002 CMSP no longer covers services provided in a hospital emergency room. Providers and Patients have been informed of this change. The Free Care Pool or MassHealth may cover these services.
