HouseWorks provides private-pay services to seniors, the disabled and their
families, which support independent living. Their motto, "solutions for independent living"
reflects their goal to help people remain independent, and in their own homes, despite age
and/or disability. Services they offer include home repairs and modifications, home care
services, escorted transportation, chores services and house cleaning.

HouseWorks' performs a wide range of home maintenance and modifications, ranging from
simple repairs to complex renovations. Services include carpentry, plumbing, electrical
work, and painting. For example, their contractors can build a wheelchair ramp, install
grab bars in a shower, or repair a leaky faucet. Written estimates are free and workers
are licensed and insured.
HouseWorks provides companions, homemakers and personal care attendants (PCAs) and nurses.
Companions aid with everyday chores and provide socialization. They will read aloud, help
with meal preparation, and pick up groceries and prescriptions. Homemakers and PCAs provide
hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing and dressing,
help complete household chores, and give medication reminders. HouseWorks' nurses are RN's
or LPN's with home care experience. They will assist and/or teach seniors and their families
to perform nursing tasks such as administering insulin and changing dressings.
Drivers will provide door-to-door transportation to any destination at any time. Drivers stay
with the customer from pick-up to home drop-off. A driver may accompany a customer to a medical
appointment, home from surgery, to the airport, or on errands. Van transportation can be arranged
to accommodate large groups.
In addition to routine house cleaning, HouseWorks can handle heavy chores, maintain the outside
of a house and prepare a home for sale. They might clean out an attic or garage, organize closets,
rake leaves, or clean out gutters.
In addition to the core services explained above, HouseWorks gives customers access to bill payers,
personal chefs, and snow removal. They also offer 'check-in' services, where staff members will
make a weekly call to a customer to schedule a ride to an appointment, to help ready a home for the
holidays, or to pick up a prescription.
