MASSHEALTH APPEAL RIGHTS CHANGES
 
 In emergency regulations effective January 1, 2001 the Division of Medical Assistance 
 clarified that enrollees of the Division's behavioral health contractor and managed care organizations 
 may appeal to the Division the contractor's determination to deny, reduce, modify or terminate a 
 covered service after exhausting all remedies available through the contractor's internal appeal process.
