FOOD STAMP ASSESSMENT

The CRC just received a copy of a new, innovative spreadsheet program designed by Rosie's Place. It allows potential food stamps applicants to calculate if they would be eligible for food stamps and to estimate the amount of their monthly food stamps allotment. This worksheet asks about all of the factors that go into determining eligibility and benefits including household size and make-up, income, and allowable expenses. It could be used for anyone potentially applying for food stamps, but since it requires all of the detailed information that would be required to apply, probably it would be most useful to those who are debating applying and want to have everything in order in advance and a sense of will this be worth it, those who have been denied food stamps in the past and want to understand why, or for those wanting to experiment with applying under different household configurations. If you'd like to borrow the disc to use with a patient, contact Ellen Forman x6-5807.
