AGAWAM CEMETERY DEDICATED TO VETERANS

On May 21, 2001, Massachusetts formally dedicated its first state-run cemetery for veterans. Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, in Agawam, encompasses 61-acres and can accommodate about 50,000 burials. Veterans who entered military service in Massachusetts, or who entered elsewhere but have resided in Massachusetts for a minimum of 5 years, and their spouses, are eligible to be buried in the new cemetery.

Pre-applications for burial in Agawam's Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery may be obtained by calling Boston Veterans' Services Department at (617) 727-3578.
