Program Highlight: Hale House
If you have a client who is unable to cook for herself, fails to take medication properly or is fearful of living alone, Hale House, a "level 4" rest home in Boston's Back Bay, may be the solution that can meet your client's needs.
Hale House provides single rooms in a home-like environment. Residents can also enjoy daily exercise programs, in-house concerts, book and writing groups, discussion groups, and an in-house library with a wide selection of books.
Each of its 56 rooms is unique and is available furnished or unfurnished. Housekeeping, laundry service, and three home-cooked meals, plus snacks, are all included. Two staff people are always on site: one who can administer medications (RN, LPN or a "responsible person" trained by Hale house) and another who can provide personal care. The all-inclusive monthly rate starts at $2237 per month. Those who receive benefits from SSI or EAEDC can assign these benefits to Hale House to cover room and board charges and keep a $60/month personal needs allowance.
