NEW SOCIAL WORK THERAPY REFERRAL SERVICE WEBSITE

Massachusetts' NASW's Social Work Therapy Referral Service (SWTRS) has recently launched a new website www.therapymatcher.org.

SWTRS connects people with licensed independent clinical social workers (LICSWs) and therapy groups across Massachusetts. It is a free, confidential telephone referral service. This service is our department's recommended way to connect patients with counseling if we cannot serve them. The department's policy is that we do not refer directly to individual practitioners.

SWTRS provides professional, personalized counseling referrals matched for location, specialty, and insurance or fee requirements. They can find a therapist located in Massachusetts, who is experienced in individual, family, group, couple, elder, adolescent and/or child therapy. They will continue to work with a client until the right match is found. This service is open to social workers, their families, and their clients.

Call (617) 720-2828 or (800) 242-9794 and leave call-back information on SWTRS's voice-mail or via e-mail info@therapymatcher.org A social worker will help define the client's counseling needs and answer questions about counseling and how to choose a therapist.

The website not only explains the services they provide and lists contact information, but also has extensive resource listings of local and national organizations specializing in the areas of abuse, addictions, adolescent services, disabilities, health, mental health, parenting and suicide prevention.
