Grant for Boston Elders: Rogerson Communities' Elder Assistance Fund

Rogerson Communities has an Elder Assistance Fund for residents of Boston. The one-time grants typically range from $25 to $500, with an average grant of approximately $200. Grants may be used for emergency situations or extraordinary expenses such as utility bills, moving expenses or durable medical goods.

Eligibility

• must be age 62 years or older (in extreme circumstances the Fund may support individuals age 55 or older who have a documented disability)
• must be a resident of the City of Boston
• must have a maximum income of $33,750 or $38,550 for a couple (or HUD’s current definition of “very low income”)
• must have a letter from a clergy member, social worker or doctor supporting their application, verifying that the information submitted is correct, and speaking on behalf of the need for the applicant to receive the grant
