Description:
The Massachusetts Children's Fund is a non-profit organization that gives jars
of baby food and gently used baby supplies to families in need. The Children's Fund relies on food drives, private donations, and volunteer workers. The organization delivers jars of baby food to homeless shelters and community organizations. The jars of baby food supplement the infant formula and dry baby cereal given out by other programs.
Benefits:
The Massachusetts Children's Fund provides
- baby food in jars, such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and dinners
- gently used baby supplies such as cribs, car seats, strollers, and playpens
- "no questions asked" funds for children in emergency situations (requires a referral from a social worker)
Applicants can specify what type of food is needed.

After the request is submitted, the Children's Fund will contact the applicant and let him/her know how to get the food and/or supplies; it will be from a neighborhood food pantry, shelter, or other organization. The Children's Fund does not deliver to the recipient’s home.
Eligibility:
There are no specific eligibility requirements for this program. If someone needs baby food, the Massachusetts Children's Fund will try to meet their need. Clients can get help from the Children's fund in addition to food stamps, WIC, or other assistance programs. The program currently operates in central and eastern Massachusetts, but hopes to expand throughout the state.
